At Upgradia, we believe in second chances — especially when it comes to technology. Our warranty reflects that belief and gives you confidence in the performance and reliability of your refurbished phone, with clarity and peace of mind.
🗓️ Warranty Period
Every phone purchased from Upgradia is covered by our Upgradia Warranty, which begins on the date of delivery. The warranty is valid for 6 months from that date.
During this period, we will repair any hardware defects resulting from normal use free of charge.
✅ What’s Covered
Fast Processing: We aim to process warranty claims within 24 hours of receiving the device.
Replacement Guarantee: If repair is not possible, we will provide a replacement device — the same model in a comparable cosmetic condition, subject to availability.
❌ What’s Not Covered
While we are committed to supporting your device, the following exclusions apply:
Accidental or intentional damage (e.g., drops, cracks, misuse)
Battery and cosmetic wear from normal use
Software issues, including third-party apps or viruses
Unauthorized repairs or opening the device without permission
Screen damage due to impact or improper use
Water or moisture damage (IP67/IP68 ratings cannot be guaranteed after refurbishing)
Improper use, including commercial misuse or use of unsupported accessories
Altered or removed IMEI/serial numbers
Damage during return shipping due to poor packaging
Data loss or indirect costs (e.g., business data or files)
Damage to specific components due to misuse (e.g., camera, buttons, glass)
Devices with issues that are not covered under warranty will not be repaired for free. In such cases, you will receive a repair quote and can choose from the following options:
Proceed with the repair at your own expense
Have the device returned without repair (standard return shipping fee of €10 incl. VAT applies)
Relinquish ownership — no charge, the device becomes the property of Upgradia
🔍 Inspection & Warranty Approval
Upgradia reserves the right to inspect the returned device and determine whether the reported issue is covered under warranty.
If the issue cannot be confirmed or falls outside warranty coverage, we will inform you and offer the options listed under "What’s Not Covered".
🔄 Ownership Transfer
If the device changes hands during the warranty period, the new owner must notify Upgradia.
The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is not transferable or extendable.
🚚 How to Return Under the Upgradia Warranty
Start your claim:
If your device has an issue covered by warranty, we’ll arrange a quick repair or replacement.
Email garantie@upgradia.nl with your full name and order number to begin your return or repair request.
We may request photos of your device for preliminary inspection before approving the return.
Back up your data:
Make sure to back up photos, files, and personal content before sending your phone.
Package with care:
Power off the device completely
Use a sturdy cardboard box with ample padding
Remove or cover any old barcodes or labels
Do not ship if battery issues are suspected
Send only the phone (no cases, cables, or accessories)
Shipping instructions:
Use the courier recommended by Upgradia and send the package to the provided return address. The sender is responsible for the device until it is received by Upgradia.
Disable "Find My":
This must be done before the repair can begin. If not completed within 30 days, the phone will be returned, and shipping fees may apply.
International returns:
For returns outside the EU, all shipping and customs costs are the responsibility of the sender.
🛠️ What to Expect After Sending Your Device
Repair time: Most warranty repairs are completed within 10 business days after receipt.
Replacement: If repair is not possible, a replacement in similar condition will be provided.
Delays: Processing time may vary due to part availability, holidays, or technical evaluation. No guarantees are provided for repair turnaround times.
⚠️ Repair Warranty
Upgradia provides a 3-month warranty on replaced parts (excluding batteries), starting from the return date.
Battery replacements come with a 1-month warranty.
No warranty is offered for repairs on devices with lightning, water, or moisture damage, unless otherwise stated on the repair receipt.
⚖️ Legal & Warranty Terms
Limitation of liability:
Upgradia is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including data loss, revenue, or profit — to the extent permitted by law.
Right to refuse service:
Upgradia reserves the right to deny service in cases of suspected fraud, tampering, or violation of warranty terms.
Service regions:
Warranty service is only available within the European Union. Devices purchased or shipped outside the EU may not be eligible for service.
Proof of purchase:
A valid proof of purchase (e.g., order confirmation or invoice) is required to start a warranty claim.
Data responsibility:
Upgradia is not responsible for recovering or losing any data on the device. We strongly advise you to back up your data before sending in the device.
Security seals:
Devices may be marked with security seals. If these are damaged or removed, the warranty becomes void.
No guaranteed repair time:
While we aim to complete repairs within 10 business days, external factors may affect this timeline.
Policy changes:
Upgradia reserves the right to amend this warranty policy at any time. The version in effect at the time of purchase is binding.
Customer responsibility for shipping:
Customers are responsible for proper packaging and safe shipping of the device to Upgradia. Damage due to poor packaging is not covered under warranty.
Applicable law and jurisdiction:
This warranty policy is governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be exclusively handled by the courts in Amsterdam.
📝 Legal Warranty Statement
According to Dutch law, refurbished phones sold in the Netherlands come with a statutory warranty of at least 6 months. This covers defects that were present at the time of delivery.
Our commercial 6-month warranty meets this legal requirement and gives you added confidence in your purchase.
This statutory warranty is separate from any additional guarantees we may offer.
